Public notice is hereby given pursuant to S.95A of the Resource Management Act 1991 that the following application for resource consent has been received by Environment Southland.
The application [reference APP-20233398] is for the following resource consent to authorise the proposed activity at 4 Kruger Street, Balfour:
Discharge Permit to discharge an average of 250 m3/day of treated wastewater from the Balfour Wastewater Treatment Plant into the Longridge Stream.
This is an existing discharge. Southland District Council is seeking a five-year consent to continue the activity in the interim period while investigations, consenting and construction is undertaken to upgrade and convert the existing Wastewater Treatment Plant to a land-based disposal system.
