RMA Application - Southland District Council - Balfour

Environment Southland has received an application from Southland District Council for a resource consent.

The application (reference APP-202333398) is for the following activity at 4 Kruger Street, Balfour:

• to discharge an average of 250 m3/day of treated wastewater from the Balfour Wastewater Treatment Plant into the Longridge Stream.

This is an existing discharge. Southland District Council is seeking a five year consent to continue the activity in the interim period while investigations, consenting and construction is undertaken to upgrade and convert the existing Wastewater Treatment Plant to a land-based disposal system.
