About us
Environment Southland is a New Zealand based Local Authority. Online payments processed through our Online Services will appear on your statement as 'Environment Southland'.
Payment types
You can make online payments using Visa and MasterCard credit or debit cards. Note: you can also make online payments via bank transfer - Find out more here.
Service fees
Check with your banking provider for any fees or charges that may apply when using your credit or debit card. This transaction is carried out on the terms of the arrangement between you and your banking provider.
Processing time
Be sure to allow time before your payment due date for processing the transaction. Generally, payments received before 8pm New Zealand time on any business day will be processed the same day. Transactions received after 8pm will be processed on the next business day.
Currency conversion
Your account will be charged in New Zealand Dollars. If you make a payment with a credit or debit card issued outside of New Zealand, any currency conversion will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the card. Your card issuer may charge currency conversion fees.
Refund Policy
Please contact our Finance division in the first instance if you feel you have made an overpayment on your Rates. They're available on 0800 377 2837 (0800 ES RATES).
Payment confirmation
We will email you a payment confirmation after a payment has been made. An email address is required for this service.
Secure payment
Environment Southland does not collect or save credit or debit card information. After confirming details of your payment and entering an amount, you will be directed to a secure Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant web page hosted by Datacom New Zealand to enter payment details.
