Waikawa Integrated Catchment Management Plan – Online Survey + Mapping

The Ministry for the Environment Manatū Mō Te Taiao has appointed Boffa Miskell Ltd, through the Essential Freshwater Fund (EFF), to assist the Waikawa River catchment area mana whenua, resident communities, organisations, and businesses to develop an Integrated Catchment Management Plan (ICMP).

The ICMP will be a non-statutory plan that will capture the community’s values and aspirations for the Waikawa catchment, and actions to help achieve those aspirations. Development of the ICMP is engagement-led and is currently seeking input from Waikawa area mana whenua, resident communities, organisations, businesses and visitors to develop the plan.

When complete, the ICMP will be a publicly available web-based ArcGIS StoryMap that will summarise and display information data, images and stories connected to locations. It will invite continual engagement and input by the wider community long after this project is complete to continue to inform future pieces of work.
