Opening hours

We're open 8.00am - 5.00pm, Monday-Friday. Our address is 220 North Rd, Waikiwi, Invercargill.

After-hours support

Environment Southland operates a 24-hour telephone service on 0800 76 88 45 to receive pollution complaints or emergency calls. Please note that staff are not available outside opening hours to respond to non-urgent or general enquiries.

Pollution incidents

For pollution and environmental incident reporting, call the 24/7 Pollution Response Hotline toll-free on 0800 76 88 45. You can also fill out our online feedback form.

River level information

An automated telephone message service is available for a number of sites across Southland where up-to-date information on river levels, rainfall and bathing water quality can be heard. Each site has its own phone number, however all the information can be accessed through the main number (03) 211 5010. Technical support is available on (03) 211 5244.
