Aerodrome Farm Limited and Piobiare Homestead Limited

Public notice is hereby given pursuant to S.95A Resource Management Act 1991 that the following application for resource consent has been received by Environment Southland.

The application [reference APP-20191021] is for the following resource consents to authorise proposed activities at:

Aerodrome Farm Limited – 95 Aerodrome Road, Invercargill:

• Land Use Consent - to use land for farming including an increase in cows from 800 to 850 and an increase in the size of the dairy platform from 267 hectares to 315 hectares.
• Discharge Permit - to discharge agricultural effluent to land from up to 850 cows by low rate pods at a rate of 10mm per hour and a maximum depth of 12mm per application to Category A and Category D soil risk zones, low rate pods at a rate of 10mm per hour and a maximum depth of 10mm per application to Category C soil risk zones, umbilical system at a maximum depth of 10mm per application to Category A and Category D soil risk zones and slurry tanker at a maximum depth of 5mm per application to Category A and Category D soil risk zones.
• Water Permit - to take up to 102,000 litres per day of groundwater from bores in the Makarewa and Waihopai Groundwater Zones.

Piobiare Homestead Limited – 939 Lochiel Branxholme Road, Invercargill

• Land Use Consent - to use land for farming including the grazing of cattle and sheep and intensive winter grazing of cattle.
• Discharge Permit - to discharge winter barn effluent to land from up to 440 cows by low rate pods at a rate of 10mm per hour and a maximum depth of 12mm per application, umbilical system at a maximum depth of 10mm per application and slurry tanker at a maximum depth of 5mm per application.
• Land Use Consent - to use land to use a winter barn for no less than 400 cows and a maximum of 440 cows.

Purpose: Dairy farming operation including intensive winter grazing.

Submission form

Any person may make a submission on the application, but a person who is a trade competitor of the applicant may do so only if that person is directly affected by an effect of the activity to which the application relates that:

(a) adversely affects the environment; and
(b) does not relate to trade competition or the effects of trade competition.

Submissions must be dated and signed (unless submitted electronically) and must include the following information:

1. your name, postal address and telephone number (and fax number if applicable);
2. details of the application in respect of which you are making the submission;
3. whether it is in support of, or in opposition to the application, or is neutral;
4. your submissions, with reasons;
5. the decision that you wish Council to make; and
6. whether you wish to be heard in support of your submission
   and you must also serve a copy of your submission on the applicant as soon as reasonably practicable.
